Changes
in the route of the footpath
The section between Falgars (La Coromina) and Pruit has a different route
than the one included in the guide of the GR 2 and in the ICC maps. This
change has been made thanks to some colleagues of the Associació
Excursionista d'Etnografia i Folklore, who were preparing their mensual
excursion to this area. This route, then, has been actualized.

The
problems in the section between Olesa de Montserrat and the Colònia
Sedó have been solved
Because
of a swelling of the river Llobregat, the old bridge that connects Olesa
de Montserrat and the Colònia Sedó was demolished in order
to build a new one. Because of this, this section of the GR 6 was cut
for some months until last august, when the new bridge was opened and
the route has been restablished.
Changes
in the route of the footpath
In the section between Sant Cugat del Vallès
and the col of Can Viver, the route has been modified because of avoiding
the road and avoiding the crossing of the housing Bellaterra.
Inside this section, there have been two modifications:
1) The first one includes the crossing of the village of Sant Cugat. The
route of the GR 6 has been unified with the route of the GR 173 in order
to avoid duplicities and to have profit of the workings of the housing
made in this village, that have highly improved the route. The present
route goes almost exclusively by paths dedicated to walkers and go on
behind the important monastery of Sant Cugat.
2) The second one
begins in the railway, near the railway station of Sant Joan. Instead
of turning to the right and going to the housing Bellaterra, the GR 6,
together with the GR 173, goes on straight ahead; in a circular gallery
turns to the left, goes on in front of the TVE (television) and once in
the next circular gallery, where the PR-C 31 connects with those GR, the
three routes turn to the right to go inside a beautiful forest until the
foot of the hill of Can Camps, where the GR 6 and the PR-C 31 go on by
its old route and separate of the GR 173, that turns to the right to go
to Sant Feliu del Vallès.
The fact that the GR 173 has been marked by the Diputació de Barcelona
has made a great improvement of the marking of the GR 6, because they
have installed new post-signs in the most conflictive places.
Changes
in the area of Montserrat
The Parc Natural de
la Muntanya de Montserrat has arranged the path between the col of La
Serra Llarga and the road from Collbató to the aerial of Montserrat.
This path was in a very bad state because of the rain and the fire. The
cemented steps have been reconstructed and renewed, some metallical banisters
have been installed and the rest of the path has been clearified. Even
the access from the road has been improved.

The
footpath has been demarked and the route between Ojén and Tarifa
has been prohibited.
Both the signs that directed the route to Tarifa and the white-and-red
signs of the GR have been retired in the section between Puerto de Ojén
(Facinas) and Tarifa, that crosses the Parque de los Alcornocales, Cádiz
(finca El Pedregoso).
In November 19th, a group of walkers could not made this route because
a guard of the environment Department did not allow them to go. Soon afterwards,
all marks disappeared.

Modifications
The nomenclature of a section of this route and of the variant GR 7-5 has been changed. What was known as GR 7 is now called GR 7-5 and, on the other way round, what was known as GR 7-5 now becomes the GR 7.
The route of the GR 7 between the Pla de Riar and Solsona is as follows: Pla de Riera, hostel of El Pla, Lladurs, Rasa de Cirera and Solsona.- 3:05h, 11,600 km.
And the variant GR 7-5 has the following route: hostel of El Pla, Pla de Riat, Olius and Solsona.- I 3:55 h 15,900 km.
GR 11

The variant GR 11-8 has been eliminated
This variant, that went from Dòrria to Planoles, has been eliminated because the whole route is now asphalted.

Change
in its route
This route
has also been modified in its beginning, in Tarragona. Instead of beginning
in the Camp de Mart, it begins in the Seu square, in front of the Cathedral.
From here on, it goes to the Rambla Vella to the Imperial Tarraco square.
Soon before arriving there, it metes the GR 92 and the GR 172, with which
it goes on together until Constantí by a new route that goes on
by Centcelles.
Information published in: 26-02-2004
Modification of two sections
Recently, the sections from Constantí to la Selva del Camp, and from la Selva del Camp to L'Albiol, have been modified, because both routes now have wide asphalted sections. The route still goes on by those villages, but the route is different.
GR
92
Information published in: 24-12-2003
This route by the Tarragona area has suffered
four modifications:
1) Section la Pobla de Montornès - Tarragona: It has been modified
in the way that, from the town's cemetery, instead of going to the Camp
de Mart, there is a new route by the city of Tarragona, and it goes directly
to the Imperial Tarraco square, together with the GR 172.
2) Section Tarragona - Cambrils: The route has been changed; now it goes
by Centcelles and Constantí in order to go to La Canonja, where
it metes again the old route.
3) Section Cambrils - l'Hospitalet de l'Infant: Now, instead of going
by an interior side with views over the route Miró, it goes next
to the coast, next to the sea until Miami Platja.
4) Section l'Hospitalet de l'Infant - l'Ametlla de Mar: After the Coll
de Balaguer, and once crossed the railway, instead of going to the Almadrava
beach and going next to it, it goes directly to the end of the Almadrava
avenue and shortens a little bit its route.
In the area of the Baix Penedès there
is another route modification:
Its arrival to L'Arboç, and because of the construction of a rotunda
in the main road, the route has been modified in order to adapt itself
to the new characteristics of the land.
In the area of the Alt Empordà has also
been another modification:
Before arriving to Castelló
d'Empúries, the route has been modified in order to avoit the difficult
pass of the river Mugueta.
In the exit of Castelló d'Empúries to El Cortalet, and because
of the works in the road from Figueres to Roses, the route has been modified,
because it cannot cross this road.
Between Cinclaus and Sant Martí d'Empúries, the route has
also been modified in order to not getting through a private property.

Modifications
in some sections
Recently, there have been modifications in the descriptions of the following
sections:
1) Coll de la Bena - Bagà.- A track has been substituted by a path
through the forest.
2) Refuge of Els Cortals de l'Ingla-Talló.- A long track has been
substituted by a path through the forest, and the route also avoids a
conflictive place because of the high traffic of vehicles in summer (vall
de l'Ingla).
3) Coll d'Escriu- Can Escriu.- A long track has been substituted by a
path through the forest.
4) Bellver de Cerdanya-Can Jan de la Llosa.- This is the most significative
change that avoids a long section of road, and the old route has been
improved.
Those modifications have been incorporated in the descriptions of the
GR 107 in this website, and almost all have also been included in the
new guide of the GR 150 recently published.

Precarious section in the area of Montserrat
According to the information received by our helpers, in the area
of Montserrat, specifically between the hermitage of Sant Benet and Can
Massana, the terrain is in precarious situation because of the come aways
of rocks from the mountain. To save this obstacle, it is advisable that,
once out of the monastery of Montserrat, instead of taking the normal
route of the GR, that goes up by the stairs in the Pas dels Francesos
and, after that, goes to Sant Benet, it is better to go directly by the
road that connects the monastery with Can Massana.

Changes
in the route of the path
The
changes in this route are in the section from Constantí until the
going out of Tarragona. In this section, it goes on together with the
GR 92 and, in part, also with the GR 65-5.
Nowadays, the GR 172 from Constantí, it goes to Centcelles, it
goes on parallel to the river Francolí and goes into Tarragona
by the Imperial Tarraco square. From here on, by a new urban territory,
it goes to the town's cemetery, where it goes on with the ancient route.

New incorporations
This is another change suffered by the GR 172: the ancient route PR-C 93, between Renau and Santes Creus, has been incorporated to it as its variant GR 172-1.

GR
210 (Path near the river Ter)
Information published in: 30-09-2002
New path in the rambling net
There is a new route
included in the rambling net of Catalonia, called the GR 210, a route
that coincides with the river Ter, from its birth-place in Ulldeter until
its mouth in the Mediterranean sea, near Torroella de Montgrí.
This route has different landscapes and really interesting reference points,
like Setcases, Camprodon, Ripoll, Montesquiu, Roda de Ter, Sau, Susqueda,
Girona, la Goula, etc.
Nowadays, the section
that is under construction belongs to the geographical area of Osona,
from the castle of Montesquiu to Roda de Ter. It will be about 42 km long.
The rest of the route will be marked soon. This project has the support
of the Diputació de Barcelona.

The
footpath has been enlarged with a new section
Recently, the route
of the PR-C 36 has been enlarged. Now it not ends in the hermitage of
Sant Bartomeu; when it connects with the GR 92, it goes with it to the
north until after some quarries. From here on, the PR-C 36 leaves the
GR 92, goes down and goes to the village of La Roca, from where it returns
to the previous route in the river Mogent.
This modification is an enlargement of 8 km of the old route and the possibility
to make a circular route, beggining and ending in the river Mogent and
going by the hill of Els Cèllecs, Sant Bartomeu and La Roca.
All marks have improved because of the posts of the Diputació de
Barcelona. The updated description can be bought in this website.
