Royal path of la Mesa

Definition:
Prehistoric route very well conservated. It is 60 km long. It comes
from Astorga and is part of an ancient "Cañada Vizana"
or path. It begins in Lavandera (Cáceres) and goes on by Asturias
until Grado. There are stoned sections of the path and several architectonical
ruines of old "ventas".

In Asturias
nowadays the marked section goes from La Bustariega to Torrestio, with
the following route: La Bustariega, Campo Cueiro, Llano Fasquero, Puerto
de San Lorenzo, Piedra Jueves, Braña la Corra, Peña Negra,
la Magdalena, Braña la Mesa and Torrestio (in the area of León).
It is aboaut 30 km long.
