Segovian path
(Madrid
and Castilla-León)
GENERAL MAP
Definition:
Most of its route goes on by Castilla-León, especially in
the area of Segovia (140 km) and a small part in Ávila. Only both
extremes go out of this area to enter to Madrid, where they link with
the GR 10.
Route:
Both beginnings and ends are in the area of Madrid,
especially in the GR 10; its route by this area is 56 km long and go on
by rural paths almost lost that link several villages that were not connecte.
The path goes on by the Sierra Norte. Its route goes on as follows: dam
of the Pontón de la Oliva, El atazar, col of La Pinilla, Puebla
de la Sierra, Porrejón, La Hiruela and El Cardoso de la Sierra.
Its end, after the section in Segovia, is in San Lorenzo del Escorial.
In Castilla-León
it begins in the col of El Hornillo, soon after leaving the GR 10 in San
Lorenzo del Escorial, and goes on to the North by Las Palmeras, Segovia,
Sotosalbos, Pedraza, Sepúlveda and Cerezo de Abajo. From here on,
it goes back to the Sierra Norte in the area of Madrid.
