Path of the reservation of Saja
(Cantabria
and Asturias)
GENERAL MAP
Definition:
It crosses the National Reservation of Saja, and links Bárcena
de Pie de Concha, in the middle of Cantabria, with the Asturian village
of Sotres, in the middle of the Picos de Europa.
Route:
In Cantabria
the route is 125 km long and goes on by large beeches and oak trees forests
and pastures. Its route is: Bárcena de Pie de Concha, Obios (1.219
m), Bárcena Mayor, Colsa, Saja, col of Cahorra, Tudanca, col of
Abellan, Pejanda, San Mamés, col of Les Invernallas, Luriezo, Cahecho,
Potes, Pendes, col of Pelea, Bejes and Jitu Escarandi.
In
Asturias the route is extremely
short: from Jito de Escarandi, the GR 71 goes on by the mountain pass
of La Caballar, and goes down to Sotres (3,5 km long)
