Path of Sierra Morena
(Andalusia)

Definition:
It beings in the Portuguese village of Barrancos, like the GR 41; it crosses
the northern side of the Natural Park of Sierra de Aracena and Picos de
Aroche. From Encinasola, it goes on among beautiful landscapes, like the
watercourse of the river Murtigas, to Cumbres Mayores. After Hornachuelos,
it goes on by the Natural Park of Hornachuelos, one of the most important
cinergetic areas of Andalusia. Its route goes on between the crest and
the valley of the river Guadalquivir, and it uses cattle transport paths
and asphalted roads. In Córdoba, the path goes on until the Parque
Periurbano de Sierrezuela, in Posadas. After that, it goes into Sierra
Morena and the torrent Bejarano. After Córdoba, the path goes to
the dam of Guadalmellato until the Natural Park of Sierra de Montoro.
The path ends in the dam of the river Yeguas.

the route goes on as follows: Barrancos (Portugal), Encinasola, Cumbres
de San Bartolomé, Cumbres Mayores (GR 42-1), Cerro el Bujo, Hinojales
(GR 41), Cañaveral de León, Arroyomolinos de León,
Cala, Santa Olalla de Cala, El Real de la Jara, Almadén de la Plata,
river Viar (Dehesa de Upa), Cazalla de la Sierra, San Nicolás del
Puerto, Cerro del Hierro, Las Navas de la Concepción, Puebla de
los Infantes, Hornachuelos, Posadas, Almodóvar del Río,
Santa Maria de Trassierra, Córdoba, Alcolea (PR-A 53), dam of Guadalmellato,
Adamuz, Montoro and dam of the river Yeguas. The path is 284 km long,
but only 229 km are marked. The non-marked area of Seville.
