Definition:
It begins in Aroche and ends in Extremadura, after covering the Natural
Park of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche, and after crossing
the routes GR 41 and GR 48. It is 112 km long.
Route:
In Andalusia
the route will be as follows: Aroche (Huelva), Ribera del Múrtiga
(local road to Encinasola), Cumbres de En Medio and Segura de León
(Badajoz).
Nowadays, there are only 56 marked km. There is the variant GR 42-1,
that is 57 km long, with the following route: Aroche (GR 42), Cortegana,
Almonaster La Real, Aguafría, Jabugo, Galarosa, Valdelarco and
Cumbres Mayores.
