Carrerada Reial de les Províncias

Definition:
The Cañada Real de las Provincias is an ancient path that linked
the central area of Navarra, in the Southern side of Pamplona, with Guipuzcoa
(Euskadi). There is a variety of landscapes, from the Mediterranean point
of view to the Athlantic one.
Route:
In Navarra, the footpath
begins in Noain, surrounds Pamplona by Miluze and Barrioplano, and leaves
Navarra by Beorburu, by the valleys of Imotz, Basaburua and Larraun. It
is about 60 km long. In Etxarri, the GR 9 links with the GR 12 and, in
Ulizar, with the GR 121.
In Euskadi,
the route is about 32 km long, and goes on as follows: Uli, Gastelu, Tolosa,
Bentaundi, Albizcur, Santutxo, Bidegoain, Iturburu, Errezil and Azpeitia.
