Review
of the guide
Description
of the most significative routes of the Battle of the Ebre.
There is a variant that, from the Coll de Cavalls, goes to Pinell
del Brai and goes back to Santa Magdalena. Both routes meet
with the routes of the PR-C 27 and the PR-C 98, a section of
the GR 171 and another section of the GR 171-3.
This
route, apart from the typical marks of long route, has an own
mark of a white dove. It was inaugurated in May 29th, 1999.
The
route has been divided in sections that, theoretically, can
be made in one day (between 15 and 25 km), with beginning and
end in places where public transport is easy to find (train,
bus). Each card is a section of the route with a map (a piece
of a map of the ICC scale 1:50.000, with the route overprinted),
a description of the route (with distances in time and km) and
a profile of the grounds.
Before
the description, there is a section with interesting information
for the walker: security in the mountain, basic rules of behavior
in nature, general suggestions, using the guide and marking.
The
section of general information includes information about the
Via Verda of the Terra Alta (Val de Zafán), a vision
over the Terra Alta, historical notes about the Battle of the
Ebre and a card of each of the villages by which the route goes
by (interesting information, telephone numbers, etc).
