Review
of the guide
It includes the description of the GR 4, from Puigcerdà to Montserrat, with its variants: the GR 4-2 and the GR 4-3. It also includes the description of the GR 5, from Sitges to Canet de Mar via Montserrat (with its variant GR 5-1), the description of the GR 176 (circular route by several Romanesque hermitages that begins and ends in Navàs), the description of the GR 179 (from Queralt sanctuary to Manresa) and, finally, the description of the GR 241 (circular route that begins and ends in Borredà).
This big publication of those routes is that all of them coincide with others in some place. By publishing it like this, there's the possibility to combine between them. Another reason is that two of them, the GR 4 and the GR 5, has a very significative place in common: Montserrat.
The routes have been divided into sections that can be made in one day (between 15 and 25 km). The beginning and end of each section are in places where the walker can lead with any transport (train, bus, car...). Each section has its own card with: a map (section of an ICC map scale 1:50.000, with the route marked), description of the route (with distances in time and km, as well as coordinates of the reference points), and profile of slopes.
The section of general information has a card of each of the different villages by which the route goes on (interesting data, telephones, etc). There's another section about churches and a summary about the marshes of La Bòbila, another one about the Sèquia de Manresa, and a third one about the Maquis (Republican guerrilla), to whom the GR 179 is dedicated to.
Because of the thickness of the guide, it has been blinded with an spiral system in order to be able to fold the pages without damaging the book.
