GR 71 Sendero
de la Reserva de Saja
The
section of this footpath that goes on by Asturias is really short.
The GR 71 enters in asturias by Jito de Escarandi, goes on by Puerto
de La Caballar and ends in Sotres. It is about 3,5 km long.
GR 100 Ruta
de la Plata
The Ruta o Vía de la Plata has its origins in a Roman paved
road built around the year 139 aC. Its Roman name was "Iter
ab Emerita Asturicam" (Road from Mérida to Astorga).
Its present name comes from the Arabbian word "balata"
(paved road), that evolved until "Plata". Like the old
route, the GR 100 begins in Astorga and goes on to the north, to
Oviedo and Gijón, and, from Mérida, it goes to the
south to Sevilla and the Guadalquivir valley. There are lots of
important cities, wonderful sightseeings, rivers, etc along its
945 km of length. It links Asturias, Castilla-León, Extremadura
and Andalusia in parallel with the Portuguese barrier. The section
that goes by Asturias is 105 km long, begins in Gijón and
goes by Serín, Lugones, Oviedo, Mieres, Pola de Lena, Puente
Los Fierros and ends in Puerto de Pajares. It
has one variant, the GR 100-1, called the Vía Romana
de la Carisa, with the following route: Ujo, Carabanzo de Lena,
La Vega de Espines, Cuaña Carreceo, La Cruz de Fuentes, the
col of Propinde, Pendilla and Busdongo de León, where it
connects back to the GR 100.
GR 101 Camino
Real de la Mesa
This route has a prehistorical origin. It is very well preserved
in all its 60 km of length. The GR 101 comes from Astorga, and it
is a part of the old Cañada Vizana of the 488 km of length.
The GR 101 begins in the village of Lavandera (Cáceres) and
goes on through Asturias until its end in the village of Grado.
There are cobblestoned sections and several architectonical rests
of old "ventas" (country houses) throughout the path.
The present marked section goes from La Bustariega to Torrestio
with the following route: La Bustariega, Campo Cueiro, Llano Fasquero,
Puerto de San Lorenzo, Piedra Jueves, Braña la Corra, Peña
Negra, la Magdalena, Braña la Mesa and Torrestio. It is about
30 km long.
GR 102 Camino
Real de Sellón
Its route will begin in Arnico, go on by Lozana and Tozo, and end
in Puerto de Tarna.
GR 103 Senda Romana de Caoro
Arenas de Cabrales - Puerto de Era
GR 105 Ruta
de las Pelegrinaciones
The GR 105 begins in Oviedo and goes by several villages full of
history. It ends in Covadonga (saint patroness of Asturias), a point
of Marian peregrination. It is also here where, according to a legend,
King Pelayo began the Reconquest against the Moorish people. It
is 105 km long, and its route is the following: Oviedo (chapel of
Covadonga), Carretera de la Garganta, Alto del Espinadal, Les Praeres,
Puente Miera, Espinaredo, Pendedor, La Matosa, La Vega, Sierra de
Bodes, Cangas de Onís and Covadonga. It has two variants:
the GR 105-1, that goes from La Rebolla (Mieres) to Grandota
(Oviedo) (12 km); and the GR 105-2, that goes from Llanes
to Covadonga (44 km).
GR 106 Ruta
de San Melchor
This mountain route is very interesting for its landscapes and cultural
amenities. This route, that is 56 km long, goes on mainly by the
Sierra dels Aramos. This footpath goes on following the same track
that an old Roman path. The GR 106 links the village of Oviedo and
the Sanctuary of San Melchor in the village of Cortes (Quirós).
GR 108 Travesía
andariega
It will go from Gijón to Covadonga.
GR 200 Ruta
de los Palacios
It is a circular route with no slopes by the area of Llanera. It
connects several palaces of the area. It has the following route
(40 km): Posada de Llanera, Alto de la Miranda, Arlós, Gorfolí,
